From ancient times until now, Cretan people lives are deeply connected with the life cycle of ‘olive’. Historical studies have shown that olive cultivation begun from the Minoan civilization on the land of Crete.

The island of Crete is located at the southern edge of Greece. Prolonged periods of sunshine, mild winters and cool summers consist the ideal climate conditions for vegetation. For this reason, more than 1,800 species of plants thrive on Cretan land, while 189 of them are endemic!!!! It is worth mentioning that the International Union for Conservation of Nature has recognized Crete as a Global Centre of Plant Diversity.

Under these excellent conditions, the produced olive oil is of greatest nutrition value!

Its beneficial properties are well known over than 2500 years ago and still they attract a lot of scientific interest.

Cretan olive oil is considered as an elixirium of long life due to its beneficial properties on human health.
